Have you heard about Telehealth therapy?
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced the closure of numerous healthcare facilities, we as medical professionals are working hard to serve our patients in the best ways possible while minimizing the spread of this disease. Telehealth has emerged as a fantastic way for patients to continue receiving medical care in the comfort of their own homes. We can keep both our patients and PT providers safe and healthy by providing care virtually rather than in person.
For more information on our services and how they may benefit you, feel free to call us at (902) 422-1555, schedule an appointment with our website chatbot, OR click here to schedule your virtual appointment!
What is Telehealth?
At Key Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre, our telehealth services offer a live appointment where you can meet and chat with our physiotherapists, hand therapists and occupational therapists about your treatment plan.
This is a method for medical providers, such as physicians and physiotherapists, to ensure that our patients continue to receive the highest possible quality of care from a remote location, such as their home.
Telehealth services can be accessed using your smartphone or computer, and you will be able to complete your physiotherapy treatments from the comfort of your own home. You’ll also be able to track your progress and see how you’re progressing as your treatment goes on.
At any point, you can also message one of our physiotherapists to ask questions or get advice about your condition.
What kinds of conditions can Telehealth therapy treat?
There are tons of conditions that Telehealth therapy can help to treat. Some of the most common ones are:
- Post-surgical rehab
- Headaches/migraines
- Back pain
- Arthritis pain
- And much more
- Injury rehab
- Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s Disease, and other chronic conditions
- Sports medicine/athletic training
- Respiratory issues
If your condition is not listed above, feel free to contact our office during business hours to find out if telehealth physiotherapy is a good fit for you.
Safety of Telehealth
In addition to allowing for the practice of social distancing telehealth also has other benefits for patients.
- Patients typically in clinical or hospital settings could be managed from their homes
- Telehealth can facilitate consultation between providers or in clinical education
- Quicker screening, assessment, and referrals can improve care coordination within collaborative delivery models such as accountable care organizations or patient-centered medical homes
